Where To Buy Salmon Flies For Scotland - Tay Salmon Fly

Is Your Fly Box Ready For The New Season?

With the fishing season under way and the vast majority of the other rivers opening tomorrow (1st Feb) we have all been getting the rods and tackle bags ready for the new season. As you flick through the flies boxes checking the armoury for the season ahead and the memories of fish caught on the patterns in front of you, its always an exciting time, the anticipation of the fly swiging across the current and a big springer grabbing hold.

We had a special moment last year when we were informed that Mr Ian Mitchell won the Malloch Trophy for the Biggest Fly Caught Salmon from Scotland with a splendid 32lb fish from the River Conon using our Ghillie Piggy Salmon Fly. Its lovely to have played a small part in Ian's success.

Over the winter I was busy putting together some boxed selections after a good few requests and to make it easier to pick a selection of flies to suit a time or year or when you just can't make your mind up as there are to many good flies to choose from. The Ultimate Spring Salmon Fly Selection has proven very popular since i added it to the website with an assorted selection of sizes and weights to cover many situations over the spring months, with the added bonus it come in one of our amazing divider system boxes with can hold many flies and still fits in you pocket. One of the most useful boxes I have seen for tube flies. Also proven popular with our overseas trips for the Steelhead and Pacific Salmon is our Intruder Selection or off to Scandinavia with our Templedog Selection.

Outwith our selections we have many patterns available on dressed hook and tubes  for you to browse through every pattern we sell we would use ourselves on the river.

We have supported the River Dee Trust, Lancashire Cricket Foundation, River Clyde Opening Charity Raffle so far with donations to help them raise funds for their good causes and we will continue to show them our support.

I look forward to providing you with the flies to catch you fish this coming season and beyond. Tight lines and stay safe.

Thanks

Martin
