The Lovely New Fishing Hut And View On The Fishponds Beat Of The River Tay, Perthshire, Scotland

Weekday Fishing
Fishponds- Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Knowesbank- Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

The Fishponds beat forms the upper part of that stretch of the river formerly known as the Lower Scone Salmon Fishings. The fishings start just upstream from Fishponds Cottage and extend s for about 2,100 yards downstream to a point just below Stormontfield which is just below the mouth of the Luncarty Mill Lade.
There is excellent access to the river bank at two points, one at Fishponds Cottages and the other by the Iron Burn.
The Fishponds beat is fished in two parts, known as Fishponds and Knowesbank and with the benefit of the reciprocal arrangement with the proprietors of the opposite bank, clients will fish Fishponds and Knowesbank on alternate days.
There is a comfortable fishing hut serving both upper and lower fishponds beats from season 2013 which will provide all visiting anglers with the comforts of home.
The Fishponds beat includes the following 20 pools which offer a wide variety of fishing.
FISHPONDS 2014
Monday,Wednesday,Friday
Black Rock, Black Craigs, Lodge End, Benchil Green, Fishponds Green, Well Hole, Lindy and Alec's Hole.
Fishponds beat, being the upper beat, provides the angler with excellent fly water on both banks, dropping into slightly deeper water as you come down the fishponds beat towards Knowesbank. This is where the floating devon or upstream toby can work with great success. The boat can also be very useful in this deeper water to cover specific areas.
KNOWESBANK 2014
Tuesday,Thursday Saturday
Fireshot, March Hole, Hedge End, Red Brae, Knowes Bank, Cochrane's Hole, Shochie Mouth, Schochie Green, Luncarty Pool, The Eddy, Boat Pool and Scheme Pool.
Knowesbank ,which includes the luncarty pool is the lower and longer beat of the two, which has such a varied selection of water for fly and spinning in all heights.
We can offer tuition for the novice and informative advice on flies//ures/lines etc for more experienced anglers. Iain Kirk (07974 375474), our head ghillie is an SGAIC qualified casting instructor.
