Ms Helena Craven With Her 28lb River Tay Spring Salmon - Tay Salmon Fly
I've ghillied many a fish for clients over the years but this one from 2009 is up there with the most memorable ones, not for its size but for the destiny around the fish. This was Ms Helena Craven's 1st every days salmon fishing, she was 4 months pregnant at the time of the capture, The fish was on caught on Willie "the ghillie" Lairds birthday and was caught on the same day as Turas a' Bhradain (The Salmon's Journey) was shown on the TV on the River Tay with Georgina Ballentines British Record Salmon and Fishing on the Newtyle Beat were the features. Maybe it was meant to be :-) #taysalmonfly
