The term Flamethrower refers to the style of pattern rather than the
pattern of a fly. This style of tying was designed by Mr Duncan Egan who
created the original flamethrower style range of patterns. The great
thing about the flamethrower is the rear hackle which keeps the tail
sitting up away from the hook, thus reducing the tangling.
The Kinermony Killer colour combo was for Mr Jock Royan who was the
ghillie on the Kinermony Beat of the River Spey.
