Hook Of Choice In This Instance I Am Using A Size 6 Silver Magni.

Start By Catching In The White Thread, Working Back To The Position Of The Rear Hackle Skirt.

Tie In The Yellow Cock Hackle 

Mix the Orange/Yellow Bucktail Together and Tie In As A Tail

Add 4 Strands Of Pearl Krystal Flash

Dub The Rear Of The Body With Black Lite Brite Dubbing

Add A Bunch Of Black Bucktail The Same Length As The Tail.

Tie In The Orange Hen Hackle

Tie In The Blue Hen Hackle

Add The Jungle Cock Cheeks

Catch In A Length Of Pearl Krystal Flash

Wrap The Pearl Krystal Flash Around The Head And Varnish

The term Flamethrower refers to the style of pattern rather than the pattern of a fly. This style of tying was designed by Mr Duncan Egan who created the original flamethrower style range of patterns. The great thing about the flamethrower is the rear hackle which keeps the tail sitting up away from the hook, thus reducing the tangling. The Kinermony Killer colour combo was for Mr Jock Royan who was the ghillie on the Kinermony Beat of the River Spey.

Here's a wee batch of Scottish Salmon Flies all set to head to their new owner. This set includes Willie Gunn Flamethrowers, Ballathie Shrimp's, Kinermony Killer and Peter's Fancy Salmon Flies.
The Doubles are tied on Fulling Mill Magni Hooks and the Trebles are tied on Esmond Drury Hooks.

How Do I Tie / How To Tie A Kinermony Killer Flamethrower Salmon Fly - Salmon Fly Dressing - Tay Salmon Fly

 Using White Thread tie in a Yellow Hackle as a skirt.

 Orange and Yellow Bucktail mixed as a tail.

 Add 2 strands of Pearl Krystal Flash.

 Black Floss for the body.

 Tie in an Orange Hackle.

 Tie in Black Bucktail back to the same length as the tail.

 Tie in a Teal Blue Hackle.

 Add Jungle Cock on both sides.

 Catch in a single strand of Pearl Krystal Flash and Whip Finish the thread to finish and varnish.

 Wrap the Pearl Krystal Flash around the tacky varnish to create the Pearly Head.
